Real-Time Detection
Watch seismographs light up across the globe the moment activity occurs, instantly pinpointing the exact location of the shaking.
The world's first free, live global earthquake detection system.
Watch seismographs light up across the globe the moment activity occurs, instantly pinpointing the exact location of the shaking.
Watch P-waves and S-waves propagate from the epicenter in real time as GlobalQuake calculates and displays earthquake data.
Magnitude, depth, maximum intensity, and more. All computed and updated live by GlobalQuake's automatic algorithms as fresh data comes in.
An experimental global system that estimates shaking intensity, capable of giving you a few seconds of early warning before it hits your location.
Aggregates live seismic feeds from stations worldwide, giving you a truly global picture of seismic activity at any moment.
No paywalls, no subscriptions, no catches. Just open seismic data for everyone, always.

“I don't know of any app better than GlobalQuake for this. Open it and let it run in the background; when a big earthquake happens, it pops it right up in the middle of the screen. Plus, you can check the frequencies of any station you want at any time. [Translated]”

“GlobalQuake has served me as a perfect and intuitive pathway towards more seismic knowledge, and has inspired me for many projects that I've started or participated on, age I am extremely thankful for all that. Hoping for an amazing new year full of collaboration and growth.”

“When the Thai government's emergency notification failed to alert people about the earthquake, I had to monitor it myself while working (with GlobalQuake)”

“I'm seriously thankful for the GlobalQuake community for making me more curious around geology and made me here, very interested in the project, thank you”

“Look at this, where did that 5-minute delay come from? Why can other places issue early warnings? By the time the red zone (shockwaves) reached Thailand, there was plenty of time to send an SOS alert. Those who lost their lives might have survived and gotten to go home. How are things working behind the scenes in Thailand? They couldn't even send an SMS after the earthquake. The relevant authorities/officials should be held responsible. #GlobalQuake #Earthquake #ThailandEarthquake [Translated]”
