      GlobalQuake Archived Quakes List

      GlobalQuake keeps a record of past earthquakes it has detected. The Archived Earthquakes feature lets you browse this history, filter events by magnitude and time, and replay the detection animation for any recorded quake.

      Viewing Past Earthquakes

      Press E to toggle the archived earthquakes panel. A scrollable list appears on the left side of the screen showing all recorded events, with the most recent at the top.

      Click on any entry in the list to see a detail panel with additional information, including:

      • Location accuracy estimates
      • Magnitude distribution histograms
      • Detection quality metrics

      Filtering

      The archive can become large over time. Use these settings to narrow down what you see:

      Tip

      Lowering the opacity of archived markers keeps the globe readable when you have thousands of past events loaded.

      Earthquake Replay

      Select an archived earthquake and start the replay to watch the detection unfold as it happened. The replay shows how stations picked up the signal and how the earthquake was located in real time.

      Quality Information

      Each archived earthquake includes quality scores that reflect how reliably it was detected. These scores are based on factors such as the number of stations that participated, the geometric coverage, and the consistency of the picked arrivals.

      Higher quality scores indicate a more confident detection. Use these metrics when reviewing past events to prioritize which ones to investigate further.
